Resume of HR Consultant Terry Rowland

Terry is an experienced HR practitioner who has operated at strategic HR Director level with blue chip organisations within the manufacturing industry for the last 15 years. Previously Terry has held management positions in Quality Assurance, Production, Logistics and Transportation and of course Human Resource Management.

Terry has worked as a business partner at Board level and senior management levels to develop effective HR strategy to support the business strategy and deliver the business change required through the people employed, within national and global operations.

Projects have ranged from Business Re-engineering multi site operations to Talent Management and Employee Development, from Site closure and product transfer programmes to Performance Appraisal and Management processes.

Whilst qualified to, and capable of, developing strategy and HR solutions for any business need, Terry can also be ‘hands on’ when and where necessary to ensure the delivery of project goals and objectives through the appropriate people within the business.

He communicates clearly, professionally and effectively at all levels of an organisation and has considerable experience in leading negotiations with employee representatives and senior officers of Trade Unions in order to achieve change and resolution of employee relations matters.

He has high professional ethics as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (FCIPD) and has a belief in and pursues continuous professional development. His Masters thesis was based on effective Management of Business Change and he continues to research this aspect of people management.

Projects that Terry has managed include:

Business Re-engineering and Implementation of SAP v.4.6 in Global Automotive operations

Rationalisation of UK multi site manufacturing operations to achieve lean manufacturing and cost competitiveness

Development and implementation of a competence based pay structure across a multi-site manufacturing organisation

Development of a model for HR Support Centre (Back office activity) and implementation in the UK, which has now been implemented in 5 further countries

Developed Leadership programme for all first line management to improve capabilities and business performance
